Church Point (NS), November 13, 2024- The Louis-R.-Comeau Library of Université Sainte-Anne is delighted to invite you to Refuge Canada Tent, a bilingual exhibit created by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, with the help of the Birks Family Foundation. It will be presented at the library from November 14th to December 13th. Entry is free during open hours of the library.

This exhibit, which travels to libraries and community centers across Canada, was designed to resemble a tent and is the same size as a typical shelter used in refugee camps today. Refuge Canada Tent raises awareness of the complex issues surrounding the history of refugees in Canada. Drawing upon oral histories, archival images and interactives, this immersive exhibit serves as an introduction to the context for Canada’s place in the global refugee crisis and brings to light the challenges faced by refugees in Canada. This exhibit was adapted from the larger exhibition, Refuge Canada, which is currently travelling to museums across Canada.
