Church Point, NS, December 8, 2016 – The Board of Governors has voted unanimously to renew the mandate of Université Sainte-Anne Chancellor Aldéa Landry. In 2011 she succeeded Mr. Louis E. Deveau to become the fifth chancellor of Université Sainte-Anne, and will complete her new 3-year mandate in November 2019.
“Aldéa Landry is a remarkable woman who has considerable experience in many areas. She has been very active within the Board of Governors and has been exceptional in her role as chancellor”, remarked Rector and Vice-Chancellor Allister Surette. “The university is lucky to be able to count on her service for another term.”
Heavily involved in the business world at all levels: regional, national, and international, Ms. Landry is a considerable asset to University Sainte-Anne. She has demonstrated excellent leadership in the development of the Acadian and Francophone community and, furthermore, has many years of experience in education. Ms. Landry sets an example not only for our students, but for all women seeking to break through the so-called glass ceiling and further their careers.
“I am extremely touched and grateful to have the privilege to continue to serve as chancellor of Université Sainte-Anne, a world class institution. Our students receive an excellent education in a welcoming, healthy, and family-like environment. The university and the university community are anchored in the community. International students are welcomed with open arms and contribute to introducing the world of la Francophonie to Acadie and Acadie to the rest of the world. I could not be more proud of this institution”, Chancellor Aldéa Landry.
