Church Point (NS), October 15, 2020 -  Université Sainte-Anne is pleased to announce the appointment of Carmelle d'Entremont as the new chair of its board of governors. In addition to being the first woman to hold the position, she is a knowledgeable senior leader with over 30 years of experience in Nova Scotia's public sector. She was first appointed to the Board of Governors in 2016.

An Acadian originally from West Pubnico, Carmelle d'Entremont currently holds the position of Executive Director with the Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine. Prior to this, she was the Vice President, People and Organizational Development for the Nova Scotia Health Authority, leading its human resource and learning portfolios, including having responsibility for French language services.

Mrs. d'Entremont had two and a half decades in progressively senior roles with the Nova Scotia government. These have included leadership in the areas of adult education, immigration and workforce planning with the Departments of Health and Wellness, Labour and Advanced Education, and the Office of Immigration.

The university community of Université Sainte-Anne will benefit greatly from such a strong leader. She holds a BA from the University of King's College, a Master of Arts degree from Dalhousie, as well as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.  

In addition to her volunteer role on Université Sainte-Anne's Board of Governors, she also serves on the board of the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia.

Carmelle and her husband live in Dartmouth where they raised three children.
