Les Araignées du boui-boui are a French-language theatre troupe from Nova Scotia. Born at Université Sainte-Anne in 1971, it was directed by Normand Godin, who was professor of literature there. In 1986, the plays were adapted and written to highlight the Acadian language of Baie Sainte-Marie. The Araignées du boui-boui troupe toured the province's Acadian schools, then went on to perform at a series of international festivals, before taking on professional projects. In 2003, the troupe won the first prize at the World Theatre Festival in Halifax for their play Tristan (source: Normand Godin, 2011).
After digitizing some of the performances, Normand Godin uploaded them to the Araignées du boui-boui YouTube channel (Ce lien ouvre dans un nouvel onglet), where 44 videos from 1980 to 2006 can be viewed.
