This program aims to enable students to become pedagogical leaders in their schools, school boards, and provinces in the field of French language education.
It provides students with theoretical and applied tools to identify, develop, and evaluate linguistic, psychological, sociological, and pedagogical assumptions on which are based the principles of teaching French as a second language and French as a first language in a minority situation. This enables them to analyze and evaluate different teaching approaches defined in the latest theories, and also to critically analyze existing programs.
Finally, the program allows students to reflect on relevant changes they could make in their teaching. Two specializations are offered: teaching French as a second language and teaching French as a first language in a minority setting.
